Sales Meetings or Training Meetings?

I had a request from a sales manager wanting to know the difference between a sales meeting and a training meeting. He concluded by asking if they really aren't the same. The short answer is NO, they are not. There is quite a difference and it's based on what the purpose is. You can find information on each type by following these links.

As always, best of luck in your sales efforts.

I've never been on a blog so if I do something wrong, please inform me. I discovered your blog this morning and found this headline interesting. We have developed a sales training system for people who sell radio around the world and I agree with you, there is a difference between a sales meeting and a training meeting. It's the reason we developed what we have. Too many think that by talking about a product or a serivce to their team, those sales people will figure it out. Internalize the information and go out and sell. It happens, but only with a small percentage of skilled sales people. We developed a system that allows the sales person to play the critical information the advertiser needs to know on a series of DVD videos. This allows the sales person to learn at the same time the advertiser is learning without their lack of knowledge or lack of belief getting in the way. It's sales training with the advertiser, the client right there. That's powerful. That frees up the time needed to have a few sales meetings back at the office to make sure everyone is focused on the right task. I look forward to reading more of your blog in the future.
